Elective Course on Cannabis and Intimacy Adds Spice to Sushi Event Rolling Recipe

CULVER CITY, Calif. – February 11, 2019 /Canna Newswire/ –  Love will not only be in the air but in the food when Mary Jane University’s High Dining presents its signature Sushi + Doobie Rolling Workshop on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 4:00 pm in Culver City. The student body will be immersed in the finer points of rolling both cannabis joints and sushi during this educational foodie workshop. Registration for free membership in the High Dining Club is required for ticket purchase. Tickets for this 21+ event are available at www.highdining.club and must be purchased in advance. No unregistered walk-ins will be admitted to this class!

High Dining is acclaimed for producing high culture, low-dose cannabis events which artfully intertwine refined cuisine with education and eclectic atmosphere. The Sushi + Doobie Rolling Workshop provides an entertaining twist on learning to cook in a socially relevant way – with cannabis education! But it’s not all about the food; this Valentine’s month Sushi + Doobie is themed for lovers. Accordingly, after instruction in doobie rolling from cannabis expert and author Keiko Beatie and a hands-on lesson from Chef Victor Miller on the fine art of sushi rolling, students may choose to participate in an optional elective course “The Art of Hand Sex”, presented by The CannaSexual® Ashley Manta.

Dubbed “America’s High Priestess of Pleasure” as the January 2019 cover subject of Sexual Health Magazine, Manta coined the term CannaSexual to describe “anyone who mindfully and deliberately combines sex and cannabis to deepen intimacy and enhance pleasure.” Manta’s CannaSexual work has been highlighted in LA Weekly, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Sensi Magazine, The Globe and Mail and London Times. Manta was also the featured expert in the “Stoned Sex” episode of “Slutever” on VICELAND TV. Manta’s history as an instructional partner with High Dining is rich; she served as a roaming educator at past productions of the award-winning Moonlit Moveable Feast.

“I met Ashley years ago at a Women Grow event and knew immediately that she was doing something special”, says Barbie Sommars, Chief Experience Creator of High Dining. “I think she provides a valuable service to the community. She’s a wealth of knowledge, and a beacon for women seeking understanding about sexual health, trauma – and enjoyment, of course.”

Manta exclaims, “I’ve been looking forward to adding my handy skills elective to this event since Barbie and I first thought of it almost two years ago! This is the perfect date night, and I can’t wait to see and hear the expressions of delight from the attendees!”

No lover’s tryst would be complete without an appropriate soundtrack, and on February 23 San Diego rapper MC Flow will be raisin’ the roof with the live debut of her new single “Rollin’ Up.” MC Flow’s weed-infused raps often use a humorous spotlight to illuminate cannabis’ role in health and culture. When California legalized adult use of marijuana in January 2018, MC Flow released the song “Welcome To The Dispensary” as a glimpse into a world just opening to the mainstream. She also hosts a monthly cannabis-themed comedy variety show “Her Highnesses High Court” in Old Town San Diego.

“For me, the music and the activism are combined,” says Flow. “It’s about spreading the word of this powerful plant and helping people unlearn some of the lies of they’ve been taught about cannabis.” In that vein, MC Flow teamed up with Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz last year to record “Oh Charlotte”, which tells the story of pediatric epileptic patient Charlotte Figi who experienced significant relief from seizures through treatment with medical cannabis.

“I’m super-excited to be performing at my first Sushi + Doobie Rolling Workshop,” says Flow. “The night is a combination of my two favorite things: food and cannabis!”

She continues, “I’m very old-school; I like to grind and feel the flower myself, and it’s a great idea to have a class that focuses on a physical relationship with the plant and the food. I love the education involved in this event and look forward to spreading all the love and knowledge about cannabis that I can!”
